The “Four Paws” part of Four Paws & A Chick is me, Lukey - the Chief Dog Officer (hey every dog needs a job, so why not a title too!). I’m the key decision maker - if I don’t wag my tail, my mom, “the Chick”, knows I don’t agree…. It’s a pretty cool job!! I also got top billing in the company name because that’s how much my best two-legged friend, and mom, “the Chick”, loves me. The other “Four Paws” in our family is Harley (the “big-boned” white and orange cat) - He usually doesn’t have much to say about the company, and quite frankly, only wants to sleep during our meetings! I on the other hand provided lots of input!!!
Lori is the “the Chick”, and she is a dog and cat lover who gave up a corporate job to pursue her dream of taking care of lots and lots of DOGS and CATS – she just can’t get enough of us! She has owned cats and dogs for the better part of her adult life, and volunteers for the Retrieve a Golden of Minnesota (RAGOM) rescue organization where I came from and where her first Golden Retriever (Paco) came from before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We lost one of the other “Four Paws”, Chelsea, who crossed the Bridge in January of 2007. Harley & me are still going strong, and glad to have more time with our mom!! And I have to tell you, I was thrilled that I got to come live with “the Chick” and the cats back in 2001. She even bakes me special cookies ‘cause I use to have allergies – and she use to give me shots too – I never liked those so much and I’m finally free of them - yippeee! She always says I’m a constant inspiration to her, not to mention the best silent partner anyone could have!!
